Be the Change Austin
Day of Service
Stand Together, Serve Together
Be The Change is Saturday September 30th!
Be the Change is a day of national service inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings and his famous quote, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” The event’s goals are to motivate individuals to participate in community service, develop and promote leadership in the South Asian community, cultivate partnerships within the community, and to build a sense of unity and teamwork within the South Asian community.
In honor of Mahatma Gandhi, Be the Change is usually hosted around his birthday, October 2nd, so this year, Be the Change will be held on Saturday, September 30th, 2017. BTC has two main facets: The first is the day of service itself, and this year registration is as easy as signing up on the GivePulse website. The second is a youth writing contest, open to all area students, high school seniors and younger. You can learn more about the contest here.
So, how can you be a part of Be the Change? For questions and concerns regarding the Be the Change, either the service projects or the writing contest, contact Ketan Kharod or Sameer Shah. You can also visit the Facebook page for the latest updates.
